Emily Georgia Salivar, PhD Bio

Dr. Emily Georgia Salivar is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical and School Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. She earned her B.A. in psychology from the University of Iowa and her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Miami, adult clinical psychology specialization. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship within Veteran’s Administration Medical Centers. Her research focuses on improving romantic relationship functioning among at-risk and underserved populations, including older adults, military, and ethnic/racial minorities. She seeks to increase dissemination of empirically-based couple interventions among these populations to improve romantic relationship functioning. Her work has been funded by the NSU’s College of Psychology Fellowship Award and President’s Faculty Research and Development Grant, the Administration for Children and Families, the University of Miami College of Liberal Arts, and recognized by Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
