Lessep Terence Duncan LCSW, PhD Bio

Lessep Duncan recently completed his PhD in the School of Social at Barry University. His dissertation focused on the experience of caregivers of family members with ADRD in the Black community. Acknowledging the higher rate of Alzheimer’s in the Black community his dissertation included cultural factors and reasons behind taking on the difficult and stressful role of caregiving.

He has worked in the field of Social Services and Social/Youth work with various populations since 1987. Presently employed by Broward County Elderly and Veterans Services Division as Human Services supervisor of the Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative program – providing Case management, Respite Care. Oversees the Consumer Directed Care program - provides a monthly stipend to clients requiring in-home assistance. Facilitates several Caregiver Support Groups for Broward county residents.
