The Board of Directors and the Staff of the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Broward County are very saddened to announce the passing of Edith Schaffer Lederberg, who left us late Sunday night, January 6th, 2019.
For over 40 years, Edith devoted her life to "planning, coordinating, funding, and advocating for seniors." She was a guiding force in this Area Agency on Aging, and we will always remember her, miss her, and hear her words as we go about performing the duties of our daily tasks, in and out of this Agency.
As Edith recently wrote, "Saying good-bye is a sad song. The journey has been long and loving. I have performed my roles in life to the best of my ability to benefit humanity. May those, who now follow, become the dauntless leaders, who walk, arm-in-arm into a future of hope, harmony, and happiness."
We have lost the touch of Edith's caring embrace for each of us and all that we do, but the warmth of her presence still remains in our hearts and her words and her concerns will always remain in our thoughts and deeds.
Rest in peace Edith Schaffer Lederberg. Your life and love will always remain within us all.
