Annual Enrollment Period

Medicare provides several plans, and the dates when you can apply for Medicare plans vary depending on the time of year it is, but each year, Medicare has what is called an Annual Enrollment Period that runs from October 15 to December 7.

During this time you can:

  • Join, change, or drop a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D prescription drug plan
  • Join a Mediare Cost plan with Part D prescription drug coverage
  • Add a Part D prescription drug coverage if you are already enrolled in a Medicare Cost Plan

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is the time to review your Medicare Part D coverage, your Medicare Advantage plan, or check your overallMedicare coverage to make sure you're getting the benefits that work in your best interest.
